A Week of Photowalk
Middle of last week, I did a one-on-one photowalk with Jojo Pensica. Great thing about our photowalk is that we have no initial plans, we do not know where to go before we proceeded on riding bus, then a train, got down somewhere and just start from nowhere.
The girl in the photo is Ella, she and her family live under a fly-over somewhere in Quezon City.
Then just last Saturday, we went to Ulingan in Tondo, Manila. I saw this little child from a distant whose home was surrounded by dirty waters, I waived at her and she waived her tiny hand back, and I took this snapshot.
I was with Thomas (Malaysian), Calvin (Singaporean), Fajar (Indonesian) and a couple of other Pinoys during this shoot. Our main purpose during the visit was to check the status of the Worship House being constructed in the area being sponsored by Thomas and his friends in Singapore.
Then we went to Baseco Compound in the after where I saw a boy walking on the breakwater in Baseco Compound, whic...

Humanitarian Photojournalism
These were photos that were taken last weekend in Ulingan, Smokey Mountain, Aroma and Baseco all within the City of Manila, Philippines.
It is quite a fulfilling weekend, I went to Smokey Mountain/Ulingan with Thomas, SK, Arman and Doc Cherry for a feeding program last Saturday administered by Pastor Nix & Pastor Cora for the kids of Smokey Mountain. Doc Cherry gave some medicines also for the young ones. Then went back there again on Sunday for some additional documentation work. It is also my first time to go inside Aroma, the tenements in front of Smokey. Then to Baseco, just a totally different place now as compared to the previous years. Last stop was Ulingan again, met two young friends, Jerry & Ephrahem, caught the sunset, long day but happy day.

Photo|Enhancement
My post-processing skill is still a work in progress. I can admit that my style is influenced by many other great artists, but I am trying to create my own niche, invent a style to be known out of my name.
As for now my style is based on standards/basics. First is based on composition, as nothing beats a well-composed shot. I personally believe that composition is my greatest strength as a photographer. Aesthetics is a born skill. Second, I do my initial processing via Adobe Lightroom, the photographers software. Actually I can make do of what Adobe Lightroom produces for my photo as many of my photos posted online were processed exclusively via Adobe Lightroom. But to create a higher level processing, I do my Third and final editing via Photoshop. Again, I must admit that I am far from being a Photoshop expert, for I only know the basics. Maybe in the future when I needed to learn more about Photoshop I will learn them but for now, I believe that what I know is enough for me t...

Photoworld Cup 2010
(author's note: this piece was written last Dec. 5, 2010)
PWC 2010 Officially Ends…
Thanks to the efforts of all the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF)-Affiliated Camera Clubs, Photoworld Cup (PWC) 2010 ended with a massive exclamation point. Yesterday marked the last day of PWC judging after which the PWC-FPPF Christmas party was held with Dos Litratistas (ABS-CBN Camera Club) as the gracious and entertaining host, well they better be because that was really their job! Anyway, my congratulations to them for the best FPPF Christmas party that I have attended; highlight includes the well wishes of many ABS-CBN stars!!!
Not My Lucky Day
I wasn’t fortunate to have won any of the raffle prizes, never was I in my whole life anyhow, so I was not totally surprised though I brought home something out of the parlor game that we won with my camera club, a T-shirt! Yay! Also I wasn’t able to score any points from the two themes judged today. But I was actually h...
